Na al het Xperia-geweld komt er ook nog wat nieuws van het VAIO-front, namelijk een twee Windows 8-machines, de VAIO Duo 11 en de VAIO Tap20. De eerste is een 11,6-inch slider, waarbij het toetsenbord onder het display vandaan komt. Deze convertible Ultrabook weegt 1,3 kg, is nog geen 18 mm dik en heeft een Full HD touchscreen. Het lijkt erop alsof de stylus weer helemaal terug is. Na smartphones en tablets is de stylus namelijk ook aanwezig bij dit model, dat toch echt in de categorie notebooks valt. De tweede nieuwe loot aan de VAIO-boom, de Tap20, is een 20-inch all-in-one die Sony heeft bedacht als computer voor de hele familie. Het scherm is in elke willekeurige positie te manoeuvreren, dus rechtop, onder een hoek, maar ook plat. Hij beschikt tevens over een ingebouwde accu, wat ervoor zorgt dat je hem makkelijk mee kunt nemen als je door het huis aan het lopen bent. Sony heeft er enkele unieke multi-user apps op geïnstalleerd om het familiegevoel te benadrukken, zoals Family Paint.
