Middels een persbericht heeft Archos aangegeven de gevestigde orde uit te willen dagen door met nieuwe high-end tablets te komen. Waarschijnlijk pretendeert de fabrikant hiermee de concurrentie aan te gaan met onder andere Apple, Samsung, ASUS en Sony. De nieuwe apparaten komen uit de Platinum-reeks en zijn vanaf eind deze maand verkrijgbaar voor een concurrerende prijs.
De 80b Platinum, 101 Platinum en 97b Platinum HD tablets bestaan onder andere uit een IPS-scherm en zijn uitgerust met een 28nm quad-core processor, 8 GB voor opslag, MicroSD-kaartslot, dual-band WiFi, Bluetooth, Wireless Display (WiDi) en Google Android 4.2 Jelly Bean.
