Sony heeft een drietal nieuwe modellen uit de Vaio AR serie klaar staan voor lancering begin oktober. Het betreft de Sony Vaio VGN-AR630E, VGN-AR660U en de VGN-AR690U. Alle drie de modellen hebben een 17-inch breedbeeldscherm dat wordt aangedreven door mobiele videokaarten uit nVidia's 8-Serie. De processors worden geleverd door Intel in de vorm van een Core 2 Duo Processor T7250 (2 GHz) voor de AR630E en een Core 2 Duo Processor T7500 (2.2 GHz) voor de AR660U en de AR690U. De nieuwe Vaio notebooks worden verder standaard afgeleverd met 2GB DDR2-553 geheugen en 320GB opslagruimte (2 x 160GB SATA).
De adviesprijs van de AR630E bedraagt $1700 van de AR660U en de AR690U respectievelijk $2399,99 en $3299,99.
