De Webcam GO
Bovenstaande foto toont de Webcam GO. Zoals te zien heeft Creative over het design goed nagedacht. Onder de motorkap zijn de Webcam specificaties ook niet slecht. De webcam werk met 16,7 miljoen kleuren en kan in resoluties tot 352x288 bewegende beelden doorgeven in 30 frames per seconde. Andere ondersteunde resoluties voor 30 frames per seconde zijn 160x120, 176x144 en 320x240. In de resolutie 640x480 wordt dit teruggeschroefd tot 15 frames per seconde. Zoals bij vrijwel alle webcams, heeft ook de Webcam GO helaas geen automatische scherpstelling.
Over de plaatsing bij de PC is goed nagedacht. Door twee rubberen strips onder de camera te plaatsen, maakt Creative het mogelijk om de camera makkelijk op de monitor te plaatsen, zonder moeilijke bevestiging systemen. Onderstaande foto's tonen dat de camera zijn plekje op een monitor goed weet te vinden:
Door de USB aansluiting wordt de camera bij installatie meteen herkend en is de camera zeer eenvoudig in gebruik. Ook is een extra videocapturing kaart op deze manier niet nodig. Het enige nadeel van de USB uitvoering is dat de camera op dit moment alleen onder Windows 98 werkt. Ondersteuning voor Windows 2000 zal ongetwijfeld ook komen, maar voor dit OS heeft Creative nog geen drivers uitgebracht.
Het wordt pas echt interessant als we de camera van de USB kabel afhalen.Draaien we hem om dan zien we een aantal knopjes en een LCD displaytje om de camera als digitale fotocamera te gebruiken. Door de 4 MB intern geheugen is er plaats voor ongeveer 90 foto's in de resolutie 640x480. Om los van de PC te kunnen functioneren gebruikt de camera twee AAA batterijen. De camera heeft zowel de mogelijkheid tot het maken van één foto als het maken van meerdere foto's achter elkaar. Bij beide is tijdvertraging mogelijk, zodat je zelf ook nog snel voor de camera kunt gaan staan.

Uiteraard propageert Creative de Webcam GO niet als high-end digitale camera. De prijs is daar ook niet naar.
