De 14 nm Broadwell-architectuur is al een tijdje op de markt in de vorm van de Core M-processors, maar Intel heeft op de Computex-beurs nu ook krachtigere exemplaren aangekondigd. Laptops, desktops en servers krijgen alle vijf varianten waaruit gekozen kan worden.
Slechts een mobiele enkeling heeft twee rekenkernen: de rest heeft er vier. De meerderheid van de consumentenprocessors beschikt daarnaast over de Iris Pro graphics 6200, een videochip die volgens Intel tot twee keer zo snel is als de HD graphics 4600 uit de Core i7 4790S.
De desktopprocessors met het C-achtervoegsel gebruiken de bestaande LGA1150 socket en kunnen dankzij hun unlocked multiplier eenvoudig overgeklokt worden. De R-varianten worden daarentegen vastgesoldeerd aan een moederbord en zullen dus vooral in all-in-one's en andere compacte systemen teruggevonden worden.
Alle details zijn in onderstaande tabel terug te vinden. Intel geeft trouwens aan dat laptops met de nieuwe processors over één tot twee maanden beschikbaar zullen komen.
