Begin deze maand kwam Android 7.1.1 uit, maar niet voor de Nexus 6 die uit 2014 stamt. Ook Android 7.1 is in deze periode vrijgegeven, maar deze heeft de Nexus 6 ook nog niet gekregen. Toch krijgt het toestel begin januari de update naar versie 7.1.1, zegt Google in een reactie aan Android Police.
"Unfortunately, we found a last minute bug that was specific to the Nexus 6, which has caused the delay of the 7.1.1 OTA rollout. We've since fixed the issue and will be rolling out an update in early January."
Gezien het toestel versie 7.1 ook nog niet mee heeft mogen maken, is de update groter dan een aantal bugfixes. In deze release zitten ook nieuwe functies, zoals Daydream VR, de nachtmodus voor het scherm, app-shortcuts en meer. De volledige lijst met vernieuwingen in 7.1 staat hieronder. 7.1.1 brengt voornamelijk bugfixes.
