Vorig jaar kregen we er de Radeon Pro Duo en de roadmap voor de komende jaren. Ook dit jaar houdt AMD weer een Capsaicin-livestream, zo kondigde het bedrijf aan. Met het nieuws van vorig jaar in het achterhoofd, lijkt het onwaarschijnlijk dat de stream dit jaar geen nieuws brengt.
Capsaicin wordt net zoals vorig jaar gehouden tijdens de GDC en draait om grafische technieken. Hij staat in de agenda voor 28 februari tussen 19:30 en 20:30 Nederlandse tijd. Het lijkt alsof AMD in de aankondiging hint naar iets nieuws, want het bedrijf spreekt over "something cool and creamy to satisfy the palette". Met Vega in het verschiet zou er zomaar wat nieuws over verteld kunnen worden. Wellicht een roadmap voor de release van de nieuwe GPU's. Een aankondiging van nieuwe videokaarten lijkt onwaarschijnlijk, want AMD heeft zelf al aangegeven dat Vega tussen april en juni komt.
Mogelijk wordt er ook wat gezegd over Ryzen, gezien de verwachte leverdatum voor de nieuwe chips ook 28 februari is. Of dit slechts toeval is of dat er nieuws komt, blijft gissen.

The Capsaicin livestream kicks off at 10:30 AM from Ruby Skye, a feature-packed show highlighting the hottest new graphics and VR technologies propelling the games industry forward. The Cream Developer Sessions will start shortly after at 2:30 PM, with a special talk featuring Unity and Epic."
