In 2015 kondigde Microsoft de website Microsoft by the Numbers aan. Daarop publiceerde het bedrijf interessante weetjes over het bedrijf en de producten. Zo stonden er toentertijd 669.000 apps in de Windows Store, waren Office-apps meer dan 100 miljoen keer gedownload voor Android en iOS-apparten en kregen we een kijkje in de keuken bij de werknemers in Redmond. Zij aten namelijk ongeveer 984.000 frietjes per jaar.
Een aantal maanden na die aankondiging werd de website offline gehaald. Microsoft gaf aan dat geïnteresseerden binnenkort een nieuwe versie van Microsoft by the Numbers zouden krijgen. Binnenkort bleek een aantal jaar te zijn, want onlangs werd de nieuwe website pas weer live gezet.
