Volgens benchmarks is er een groot verschil tussen de Galaxy S20 met Snapdragon 865 en die met de Exynos 990. Het is inmiddels een gegeven dat de topmodellen van Samsung wereldwijd met verschillende soc's uitgebracht worden, maar de Exynos-versie zou fors lagere prestaties en efficiëntie hebben.
Benchmarks van SPECint laten zien dat de Exynos 990 minder snel is dan de Snapdragon, maar wellicht belangrijker, ook een lagere efficiëntie heeft. De score van de Exynos komt neer op 13,0/watt, terwijl de Snapdragon 865 zo'n 19,6/watt neerzet. Ook de Snapdragon 855 is met 15/watt efficiënter dan de door Samsung ingezette Exynos. In de Benelux wordt de Galaxy S20 slechts uitgebracht met de Exynos 990-soc, dus zijn kopers hier slechter af dan in andere landen.
