De maker van de TechPowerUp-tool ThrottleStop, Kevin Glynn, heeft gisteren versie 9 uit de doeken gedaan. Deze software is ontwikkeld om de beperkingen die oem's voor hun producten opleggen waar mogelijk op te heffen, zodat de prestaties en koeling beter te configureren is.
Versie 9 is gecompileerd in Microsoft Visual Studio 2019 en biedt naast de mogelijkheid om onder meer het lettertype in het programma aan te passen ook de ondersteuning voor Intels Core-chips uit de Comet Lake-generatie. Qua functionaliteit is het nu mogelijk om de prochot-offset aan te passen, voor Nvidia-chips is er nu een MHz-metertje dat ook te exporteren is naar het log-bestand. Verder is het gelijklopen van de temperatuurmeters in het notificatie-deel en de UI verbeterd en kunnen de WinRing0- en RwDrv.sys-drivers nu beter overweg met Windows 10 2004.
