AMD heeft in een exclusieve aankondiging aan leden van de Red Team community bekend gemaakt dat ze van plan zijn een nieuwe versie van de Radeon RX 6800 XT te lanceren. Het gaat om de "Midnigt Black"-editie, die zoals de naam suggereert grotendeels in het zwart is uitgevoerd. De kaart wordt om 3 uur vanmiddag beschikbaar op AMD's website voor een onbekende prijs. Het is een gelimiteerde oplage en het is nog niet duidelijk of het een eenmalig product is of er later meer kaarten gemaakt zullen worden.
De AMD Radeon RX 6800 XT Midnight Black.
De kaart heeft dezelfde specificaties als de standaard RX 6800 XT. Er wordt dus gebruik gemaakt van de Navi 21 XT gpu met 4608 stream processors. De kaart heeft 16 gigabyte gddr6 geheugen en 128 megabyte Infinity Cache. Dit model heeft een 2,5-slot design en twee 8-pins stroomconnectors voor maximaal 300 watt aan voeding. De prijs van de Midnight Black-editie is nog niet bekend, de adviesprijs van de huidige 6800 XT is 649 dollar.

The AMD Radeon™ RX 6800 XT (Midnight Black) graphics card will be made available only on AMD.com through the page link below on April 7, 2021 at approximately 6am PST / 9am EST / 3pm CEST / 9pm TW.
