Gamestoelenfabrikant Secretlab heeft vandaag een nieuw product aan het assortiment toegevoegd. Het is niet een nieuwe stoel, maar een bureau, ontwikkeld voor gamers. De Magnus Metal Desk valt op door de stalen constructie en de mogelijkheid om kabels aan het zicht te onttrekken met behulp van een speciale kabelbak aan de achterzijde. De kabelbak kun je afdekken om de kabels te verbergen.
Het bureau heeft meer mogelijkheden. Optioneel is er een magnetische mat beschikbaar waarmee je er voor kunt zorgen dat al die kabeltjes netjes op de juiste plek kunnen blijven liggen. Een andere optie is rgb-verlichting. Je kunt dus kiezen voor een strak zwart bureau of juist wat meer frivoliteit.
Volgens de fabrikant is het geschikt om een gewicht tot 100 kilo te dragen en is het 73,5 cm hoog, dat kun je verhogen tot 75,5 cm De magnetische mat: ‘magnetic leatherette desk mat’ is in drie designs beschikbaar. De tafel wordt geleverd met handige, magnetische kabelgeleiders die je snoertjes in het gareel houden.
De tafel is 150 cm bij 70 cm groot, de kleinere variant meet 120 bij 70 cm. De 1,5 meter grote versie heeft een vanafprijs van 449 euro, de kleinere gaat 399 euro kosten.
De speciale mat kost 49 euro extra, daarnaast biedt het merk nog allerlei accessoires zoals kabelgeleiders en rgb (59 euro)

We hebben zojuist een reactie gekregen van Secretlab op onder andere de reacties onder dit bericht.
We hear your comments about a sit-stand desk. Truth be told, it was the first feature that we thought of when we were designing the MAGNUS desk. There are a few reasons why we didn’t incorporate a sit-stand feature.
Firstly, there are easily hundreds of different brands out there selling the exact same sit-stand desk. We saw the need for something different and wanted to bring these innovative ideas to the table (pun unintended). Features that would be appreciated but not yet existing. We focus heavily on the user experience, and I daresay that we’re the expert in this field, with what we’ve done with our chairs. The feel of the leatherette MAGPAD, the magnetic ecosystem, the cable management features, the offset design—all these come together to bring a delightful experience.
Secondly, this is meant to be a desk to be used in conjunction with our ultra-comfortable chairs. The typical MAGNUS user would be seated 99% of the time, gaming or working. We ultimately decided on not including a feature that costs $200 by itself that would only be used 1% of the time for our users. Nevertheless, the MAGNUS has evolved a lot as it was being developed over the past 3 years. Remember, this is just the first iteration of the MAGNUS. We think that there might be a possibility of combining these features with a sit-stand version, but development takes time (the MAGNUS alone took 3 years!), especially when we are extra careful with our rigorous testing.
