Testmethode

We testen alle Intel Z390-moederborden, net als de Z370-borden, met een Intel Core i7 8700K-processor, 16 GB G.Skill Trident Z-geheugen geklokt op 2666 MHz bij CL14, een tweetal Samsung 850 Evo 500GB ssd's en een Seasonic Prime Titanium 650W voeding. Daarnaast hebben we alle borden ook op de proef gesteld met een overgeklokte Core i9 9900K, waarover later meer.

Alle reguliere tests voeren we uit op de standaardinstellingen van de moederborden. Vanzelfsprekend zijn prestaties en stroomverbruik afhankelijk van de standaard tuning. Sommige fabrikanten passen trucjes toe om de prestaties verder op te drijven. Een aantal moederborden voert bijvoorbeeld standaard de maximale single-core turbo door op alle cores. Daardoor wordt het systeem natuurlijk een stuk sneller, maar ook minder zuinig.

Naast de prestaties van de cpu, gpu en het geheugen, testen we ook de usb 3.1-snelheid, het stroomverbruik en de geluidskwaliteit van de moederborden.
