Om de prestaties van een heel systeem (desktop of notebook) te testen, gebruiken we PCMark7. Deze benchmark simuleert aan de hand van 'opnames' van echte belastingen met bestaande programma's een realistisch gebruik van de notebook voor een flinke hoeveelheid toepassingen. Hierbij is de snelheid van de opslag een belangrijke factor: notebooks met een flashgeheugen-gebaseerde SSD halen fors hogere scores dan exemplaren met een mechanische, magnetische harde schijf.

Dat zorgt er onder meer voor, dat de Acer Aspire V3-571, die de lijst aanvoerde bij de processor en grafische kaart benchmarks, het hier een stuk minder goed doet. Alle modellen beschikken namelijk over een SSD, behalve die notebook. Dat betekent dat hoewel de Acer veel (zware) taken sneller zal afmaken dan de concurrentie, de responsiviteit bij sommige taken bij de Acer toch minder goed zal zijn. Zo zal het starten van complexe programma's langer duren, evenals het laden van Windows zelf. Bij de diverse deeltests laat de V3-571 zijn kracht weer zien, maar de trage opslag speelt hem parten. De prestaties van de meeste andere modellen liggen dicht bij elkaar, al lijkt de ASUS Zenbook niet overal het potentieel van zijn i7 te kunnen benutten.
